The shape, proportions, and materials of The Seating Construction are directly inspired by architecture, the art and science of designing physical structures. Marta Bartkowiak, the designer, explains that the project was developed while studying architectural dimensions in design and her passion for the architectural process of development. The result is a collection that embodies the formula: Architecture = construction + general appearance + functionalism + materials + principal purpose human occupancy or use.
Despite its visual lightness, The Seating Construction offers high stability and ergonomic comfort for everyday use. The wire structure, reminiscent of delicate sculptures in space, carries a warm and inviting sitting form. Each piece in the collection - a chair, a lounge chair, and a bar stool - interacts with the surrounding area and space, making it a versatile addition to any interior.
One of the unique features of The Seating Construction is its ability to adapt to different seating positions. Whether placed in a row at a dinner table or as a single object positioned within a space, the collection's design encourages both functionality and relaxation. The chairs, upholstered in Divina Melange fabric by KVADRAT, offer a sophisticated and delicate impression, while the lounge chair invites users to comfortably relax.
The Seating Construction was prototyped by NOTI, a Polish furniture company, and has received recognition and accolades. It was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2011, which honors well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements. The collection's integration of industry best practices and competent technical characteristics contribute to a better world.
With its fusion of architecture and furniture, The Seating Construction by Marta Bartkowiak stands as a testament to the power of design to create unique and functional pieces that enhance our everyday lives.
